Software Engineer

Salary: NEGOTIABLE - dependent on qualifications

Simpleware is currently looking for a software engineer to develop and improve image processing, image visualisation, or surgical simulation tools from initial concept through to product release.

Overall purpose of the job

You will become part of the software development team and will be working closely with the Technical Director. Primarily, this will involve:

• Improving existing code
• Building new tools for existing software
• Coding, testing, and reviewing related packages

• Relevant qualifications in computer science/software engineering
• Good knowledge and experience of C++
• Comfortable solving complex numerical problems
• Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative whilst being a team player
• Ability to communicate effectively with other members of the team
• Ability to work in a flexible environment

• Knowledge of VTK, ITK or other visualisation and image processing libraries
• Knowledge of wxWidgets, Visual C++ and version control systems
• Experience using multithreading
• Knowledge of Linux
• Knowledge of computational modelling (FEA and CFD) or CAD software
• Ability to present work to customers or conferences/workshops
