Obtain the geometry of your object(s)/region(s) of interest using a volume scanner such as an MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) or a CT (Computed Tomography) scanner.
The Simpleware software package will handle any scanning modality that generates volume images data (e.g. a stack of slices) in one of the supported formats (see below).
Data generated by surface scanners (using e.g. laser or contact methods) may require a preliminary conversion step.
Alternatively, the source of the data can be artificially generated either by the software of your choice or by the internal micro-structure generator provided with ScanIP.
