State of the art and future challenges in X-ray computed tomography for material mechanical behaviour assessment

January 26, 2012 - Building 19, Room 3011, University of Southampton, UK

This seminar is organised by the British Society for Strain Measurement (BSSM). The objective is to investigate the present state of the art and future challenges of the use of X-ray computed tomography. Applications include damage detection in materials as well as 3D volume deformation to investigate the mechanical phenomena occurring within the solids as opposed to just on the surface. There will be an exhibition of instruments related to those used in the presentation. There will also be a tour of the University of Southampton’s dedicated centre for computed tomography (CT), μ-vis.

Visit the Simpleware stand (# 5) in the exhibition area.
